Mosta Bacon specialises mostly in the production and packaging of processed meat products, including: Bone-In Ham, Gammon, Picnic Ham, Smoked Ham, Arrosto, Bacon, Mortadella, Salami, Minced Meat, Burgers, Sausages, Bragioli & Meat Balls.
A small background
Mosta Bacon Co. Ltd. was formed in 1988 but Its
origins date back to the late 1950’s when Peppi, the father who had a little meat seller’s shop in the shadow of Mosta Church began experimenting with different ways of making bacon.
Peppi’s Mosta Bacon was an instant hit and before long he was buying hundreds of pigs a year and keeping the pig husbandry business afloat.
Peppi, together with his wife Marianna and his six children kept the original name but moved on to also produce all kinds of hams, cured hams, burgers, sausages and minced meats.
Mosta Bacon today is also a leading importer of meat and frozen products. The family business is currently run by the first and second generation and it employs over 60 people.
Food Safety
We strive to provide high quality and
safe to eat food. For this reason, we invested in a Food Safety Management System (HACCP). It is a food
safety management system that is used to identify, assess, and control hazards that may occur during production, processing, and handling of food.
Hygiene
To ensure the safety and quality of our products, strict hygiene measures are implemented throughout the entire process, from the sourcing of raw materials to the packaging and distribution of finished goods. This includes regular cleaning and sanitization of equipment and facilities, proper handling and storage of ingredients, and adherence to food safety regulations and industry best practices.
